I was employed for a contract period of one year by the Cross River State Government, to take over from the Protea Hotel Group, whose contract had expired. I basically inherited the Ranch with many problems. The major areas that required urgent attention were, Sales & Marketing, Lack of Financial Controls, General Maintenance, Poor Service Delivery in all areas of the operation, Low Staff Morale and Unacceptable levels of Customer Service.
I am happy to state that the overall outcome after the one year period was quite successful. Nonetheless the Cross River State Government needed an investment management company to renovate and further develop the resort. Thus they appointed a company from Zimbabwe, who are currently assessing the possible returns on their potential investment.
