Our location is a 5-minute walk from Pärnu beach promenade and 15 minutes from the city centre and most of the popular attractions and activities.

Our Villa hotel in Pärnu has long traditions in offering accommodation service which gets back to the times of First Republic of Estonia. Back then Estonian first president Mr Konstantin Päts was here a frequent visitor and several relevant decisions were made here with other Heads of State.

Our Hotel

We strive to make your stay unique in every way with exceptional customer our hotel today. The hotel complex consists of two buildings – the Manor house and the Garden house. There are 27 modern hotel rooms altogether which are equipped with all conveniences you’ll need for a temporary home: LCD TV, wifi coverage in the whole hotel, a fridge or a cooler, and a bathroom. All rooms are non-allergic. Smoking in the hotel rooms is not permitted.

In the hotel yard there is a playground for children. During summertime our heated outdoor pool* is open for our customers. Observe the opening hours of the pool from the information board by the pool. We have a free of charge parking lot in the yard, based on availability. Parking is paid daily in the beach area (incl. Papli Street). Free parking is possible on A. H. Tammsaare Street. More information about parking arrangements.

Our Restaurant

In the premises of the restaurant Piparmünt area, Kuldne Kahvel OÜ’s hardworking women have been delivering taste and service experiences since the beginning of 2020. Piparmünt is a leisure restaurant with delicious food, pleasant service and a cozy interior, where the main emphasis is on European-oriented dishes. Chef Gertu Taavet makes every food a work of art and everything that reaches the plate is made with care and love. The menu changes twice a year.

The rooms of the restaurant can accommodate a total of 50 people, in summer 40 seats will be added on the outdoor terrace, where well-behaved dogs are also always welcome. The youngest members of the family can find their favorite dishes on the menu, and there is also a playground in the yard for fun, there’s a play area also indoors when the weather is cold.

Hunting in Estonia

Estonia is considered one of the best hunting places in Europe because it is located on the autumnal migratory route for birds along the Baltic Sea. I have 30 years of hunting experience and for the past 18 years, I have organized hunting trips in Pärnu County. We offer bird hunting trips in the coastal and forest areas of Pärnu Bay.

Fact Sheet of the Property/Business

This family-owned boutique hotel is just 300m from the famous beaches of Pärnu. The town is bestowed with the title of Estonia's Summer Capital. Sheltered from the sea by a large bay, Pärnu is one of the Baltic regions best loved resort towns with its long warm summer days.

Fully renovated in 2014, the hotel complex consists of a large private garden with three buildings – the historic manor house, the garden house, and the restaurant.
The manor house has a total of 13 rooms, including a junior suite and family rooms. The decor in each room is different, with historical touches of the villa’s long tradition of hospitality. The garden house consists of 14 hotel rooms and each room has a private terrace.  There are sauna facilities.

The rooms are large and light, and due to our location, also quiet. All 27 rooms are non-smoking and are equipped with a LCD-TV, a fridge, an ensuite bathroom with under-floor heating and WiFi coverage.

The hotel has a long history going back to the times of First Estonian Republic. Estonia's first president Mr Konstantin Päts was a frequent visitor here when the house belonged to sea captain Mihkel Kurgo who gave the hotel its name today.

The restaurant has a fully-functioning professional kitchen, 2 dining rooms and an outdoor terrace.  In our private yard there is a playground for children, an outdoor pool and 13 parking places.  

The Hotel is a 10-minute-walk away from Pärnu city centre; 130 km from Tallinn Airport and 197 km from Riga Airport.

Extra: staff changing rooms, a private office space, a utility room and an outdoor shed.  All licences are in place.  There is the possibility to add 3 additional rooms.

Pärnu

Pärnu is the fourth largest city in Estonia. Situated in southwest Estonia, Pärnu is located 128 kilometres (80 mi) south of the Estonian capital, Tallinn, and 176 kilometres (109 mi) west of Estonia's second largest city, Tartu. The city sits off the coast of Pärnu Bay, an inlet of the Gulf of Riga, which is a part of the Baltic Sea. In the city, the Pärnu River drains into the Gulf of Riga.

Pärnu is a popular summer holiday resort town among Estonians with many hotels, restaurants and large beaches. The city is served by Pärnu Airport.

History

Perona, which was founded by the bishop of Ösel–Wiek c. 1251, suffered heavily under pressure of the concurrent town, and was finally destroyed c. 1600. Another town, Embeke (later German: Neu-Pernau, Estonian: Uus-Pärnu) was founded by the Livonian Order, who began building an Ordensburg nearby in 1265. The latter town, then known by the German name of Pernau, was a member of the Hanseatic League and an important ice-free harbor for Livonia. The Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth took control of town between 1560 and 1617; the Poles and Lithuanians fought the Swedes nearby in 1609. Sweden took control of the town during the 16th-century Livonian War as part of Swedish Livonia, although it was not formally ceded by Poland-Lithuania until the 1660 Treaty of Oliva. Sweden then lost Livonia to the Russian Empire in the 1710 Capitulation of Estonia and Livonia and the 1721 Treaty of Nystad, following the Great Northern War. It belonged to the Imperial Russian Governorate of Livonia until 1917, when it was transferred to the short-lived Autonomous Governorate of Estonia. The city is occasionally referred to as Pyarnu, an incorrect reverse-transliteration from the Russian Пярну.

The town became part of independent Estonia in 1918 following World War I and the Estonian War of Independence.

The city was occupied by the Soviet Red Army along with the rest of Estonia in 1940 during World War II, and its German population fled the town. It was briefly occupied by Germany from 1941 until 1944 before it was reoccupied by the Soviet Union during its counteroffensives. Pärnu then continued as being part of the Estonian Soviet Socialist Republic from 1944 to 1991, when Estonia restored its independence.

During the Great Northern War, the University of Dorpat (Tartu) was relocated to Pärnu from 1699 to 1710. The university has still maintained a branch campus in Pärnu to this day (1,000 students in the 2004/2005 school year).

Estonia, formally the Republic of Estonia, is a country by the Baltic Sea in Northern Europe. It is bordered to the north by the Gulf of Finland across from Finland, to the west by the sea across from Sweden, to the south by Latvia, and to the east by Lake Peipus and Russia. The territory of Estonia consists of the mainland, the larger islands of Saaremaa and Hiiumaa, and over 2,200 other islands and islets on the eastern coast of the Baltic Sea, covering a total area of 45,339 square kilometres (17,505 sq mi).
The capital city Tallinn and Tartu are the two largest urban areas of the country. The Estonian language is the autochthonous and the official language of Estonia; it is the first language of the majority of its population, as well as the world's second most spoken Finnic language.

The land of what is now modern Estonia has been inhabited by Homo sapiens since at least 9,000 BC. The medieval indigenous population of Estonia was one of the last "pagan" civilisations in Europe to adopt Christianity following the Papal-sanctioned Livonian Crusade in the 13th century. After centuries of successive rule by the Teutonic OrderDenmarkSweden, and the Russian Empire, a distinct Estonian national identity began to emerge in the mid-19th century. This culminated in the 24 February 1918 Estonian Declaration of Independence from the then warring Russian and German Empires. Democratic throughout most of the interwar period, Estonia declared neutrality at the outbreak of World War II, but the country was repeatedly contested, invaded and occupied, first by Stalinist Soviet Union in 1940, then by Nazi Germany in 1941, and ultimately reoccupied in 1944 by, and annexed into, the USSR as an administrative subunit (Estonian SSR). Throughout the 1944–1991 Soviet occupation, Estonia's de jure state continuity was preserved by diplomatic representatives and the government-in-exile. Following the bloodless Estonian "Singing Revolution" of 1988–1990, the nation's de facto independence was restored on 20 August 1991.

Estonia is a developed country, with a high-income advanced economy, ranking very highly (31st out of 191) in the Human Development Index. The sovereign state of Estonia is a democratic unitary parliamentary republic, administratively subdivided into 15 maakond (counties). With a population of just over 1.3 million, it is one of the least populous members of the European Union, the Eurozone, the OECD, the Schengen Area, and NATO. Estonia is nowadays often considered to be one of the three "Baltic countries" or "Baltic states" — a geopolitical grouping which also includes Latvia and Lithuania. Estonia has consistently ranked highly in international rankings for quality of life, education, press freedom, digitalisation of public services and the prevalence of technology companies.

We arrange your accommodation in the villa with catering in restaurant Piparmünt, hunting documentation and transport for hunting trips. Your hunting dogs can stay in separate cages in the insulated house in the garden of the hotel. The game birds can be processed and stored in a freezer. In order to be able to hunt in Estonia, foreign citizens need to have their home country hunting licence and European Firearms Pass. We can formalize a foreign citizen hunting licence that is issued in Estonia and foreign citizen hunting licence properly on the spot.

  • The various categories include game lodge, nature lodge,  hotel, small hotel, boutique hotel, apartment hotel, guest house, country house, bed & breakfast, self-catering: exclusive-use and shared vacation, caravan & camping, backpackers & hostelling and a range of conferencing and venue categories.
  • I do assessments mainly in the Province of Mpumalanga, South Africa, as I am based in Nelspruit.
