The beautiful farmhouse built of local stone, is over 120 years old. Recently restored, it sleeps ten people in five double executive rooms all en suite.
The house is positioned on a rise, overlooking the Mkomazana River valley and a dam. From every window there are magnificent views across the formal gardens to the little and main berg. The deep verandahs and courtyard invite you to relax with a book or a sundowner.
The lodge comprises of a bar with a pool table, dining room with a fireplace and coffee lounge with spectacular mountain views.
Rooms have either underfloor heating or fireplaces for the chilly winter months.

Our Guest Farm’s magnificent location makes it a great base for exploring the Drakensberg:
4 x 4 trips into Lesotho via the spectacular Sani Pass.
Visit the “highest pub in Africa” at 2875 meters above sea level. Drive your own vehicle or we arrange for one of the local tour operators to pick you up at the lodge. Don’t forget your Passport. A Visa is required for some international tourists | visitors.

Hiking
Take a leisurely stroll along foot paths to picnic sites along the river. Bring a picnic basket with a bottle of Champagne. Swim in the pools in the river. Or follow the river 1.5 km upstream to a beautiful waterfall. You will need to cross the river two times. From the waterfall continue another km to famous Sani Pass Hotel for Lunch or a drink. Or we can arrange for a guide to take you to Bushman paintings which can be reached by foot from the Lodge or real high berg escarpment challenges.
Farm activities
Let the children feed our pigs, geese. Or help Sipiwe chop down a tree for the evening fire. Upon prior arrangement, the nearby farms welcome visitors to a dairy farm with 300 milk cows or to see the honey bees in action.
Fly-fishing (depends on the season and water levels)
On a trout dam next to the Lodge and from the banks of the mKomazana river. The dam is regularly stocked with catch size trout and in the river you can find naturally reproducing Brown trout. Our chef is happy to prepare trout caught in the dam. The river is strictly catch and release.
Horse riding can be arranged at nearby resorts
Bird watching and indigenous game
The abundant birdlife on Seaforth Farm include eagles, cormorants and many more.
All year round you may spot Rhebuck and Duikers. In winter the Elands come down from the high mountains to graze on the farm.
Our Guest Farm has stabling for twelve horses, paddocks and polo fields, making it the ideal accommodation for polo players competing in Underberg.
