Our Lodge in Mozambique is a full-service Game Fishing Lodge specialising in Big Game Fishing and Bill Fishing.
Our Luxury Fishing Lodge is situated on the estuary in Mongue, 17km north of Maxixe, in the province of Inhambane Bay. The Inhambane airport is one and a half hours by plane from OR Tambo airport in Johannesburg. Transfers from Inhambane airport to and from the lodge takes an hour.
Located between Palm trees, with its own private white sandy beach, guests have the choice of fishing the estuary on light tackle/ fly fishing, or venturing into the open seas via the always open mouth of the estuary to the bay of Inhambane and offshore in one of three available boats skippered by experienced fishing guides. A wide variety of species from a Half Beak in the estuary to Black Marlin offshore, and many other fish in between, can be caught in the area. We apply a stringent catch and release policy to ensure ocean conservation and natural resource preservation.
We provide full Fishing packages, Meals and Luxury Accommodation and we are able to cater for up to 15 guests:
2 Double Chalets:
each with two double beds/ or four single beds, full bathroom and lounge, with undercover patio.
4 Single Chalets:
each with a single double bed/ or two single beds per room, with en-suite bathroom, hot water shower, toilet and basin, also with undercover patio.
Buildings :
Buildings are constructed with brick, thatch roofing, tiled flooring, ablution facilities, adequate exterior lighting and covered patio areas.
Interiors
Interiors are equipped with lighting, plug points, comfortable seating and sleeping (fresh linen and mosquito nets) and ceiling fans.
In addition, we have a restaurant equipped kitchen, laundry, Bar and Dining room with deck, Games room (equipped with pool table, table tennis table, dartboard, reading room, and offer a variety of board and card games).
All units face the estuary with sea views and beach access is approx. 50 metres.
Speciality fishing:
Targetting Billfish and big Yellowfin Tuna on the 500m contour line, and deeper. This involves more fuel, a faster trolling speed, and heavy duty Marlin equipment. The 500 meter contour line is an additional 6 miles further out to sea, our starting place. 200 litres of fuel is allowed. This is a 10 hour offshore day. Launch at 7am and back at 5.30pm, weather permitting.
Fishing Ski Packages:
Our lodge is situated on an Estuary, which has calm water for Fishing Ski Safaris. We offer guided tours up the Estuary which is navigable for ten kilometres. We usually leave on an incoming tide, and return to the lodge on the outgoing tide to make the paddle easier. We offer guided tours for catch and release light tackle fishing, guided bird watching tours, and general exercise. It is an ideal way to experience the outdoors, and have fun at the same time. There are very few people who venture up the Estuary, and it is peaceful and full of bird and fish life. Flamingos, Pied Kingfishers, Yellow-billed hawks, Hammerkops and countless others are seen usually on each trip. From a fishing point of view, we target Kingfish, Barracuda, Rock cod and Mangrove Snapper. We either do fly fishing, or light tackle spinning and trolling. As this is our playground, we release all fish caught. We often see Dolphin, and sometimes see Dugongs. Bring your luck, as you never know what Mother Nature will have in store for you.
