4 Star Self catering cottages & 3 bedroom Guest House perched on a Koppie, 400m off the main street of the village of Prince Albert, overlooking the Swartberg and Karoo Plains.
In 2008 Richard and I left Hillcrest in Natal and went on a search for somewhere to retire and after travelling all over the Western Cape, visiting many little towns and villages we settled on Prince Albert having taken into account a number of considerations;
Cleanliness of the town, security and safety, cost of living i.e. rates, community and its people, ambiance and of course would we be happy living in this area and would we want to buy an existing property or develop our own.
In September 2008 we were shown a piece of natural Koppie, just up from the main street of the village, yet offering the peace and tranquility that we were seeking, all so conveniently situated and with a View that was priceless, like no other in and around the village. We bought the 2 erven filled only with natural spring flowers.
January 2009 started planting our first trees whilst living on our koppie in our caravan
July 2009 started building our reception building, followed by the cottages and finally our house
June 2010 cottages were completed and we welcomed our 1st guests
August 2010 our house was completed
We love what we have created and are very proud in what we have achieved in just over 6 years of trading from building and creating a business and brand from zero, including the quality of life and lifestyle that we have been able to lead in our special place, however due to our family circumstances and health issues we have to re-think our immediate future far earlier than we intended.
